VICTORY TEAM’S KEVIN REITERER WINS SKI UIM-ABP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
Sharjah, UAE – Victory Team’s Kevin Reiterer was a class of his own with a faultless performance the whole weekend. He won the Grand Prix of Sharjah and sealed another UIM-ABP Aquabike World Championship.
Coming into this week Reiterer lead the Championship by 14 points in front of Raphael Maurin (FRA), who just won the prestige King’s Cup title a weekend prior to this event. Both athletes battled in all four motos and shared wins at the event in Thailand. It seemed to be a recipe for an exciting final race event of the season.
However, Victory Team’s Reiterer had other plans. Reunited with his Victory race craft he dominated practice and pople position by a margin of 4.83 seconds clear of defending World Champion Quinten Bossche.
“Being back on my Victory Team race ski here in Sharjah feels amazing. I felt straight away in terms with the ski and ready to push it my hardest”, says the Austrian.
Reiterer was a class of his own at the Grand Prix of Sharjah. His competitors had no response to the dominating three moto wins, which were lead from start to finish and ended each time with an over 30 seconds lead.
“Coming into this season I was battling an injury. Throughout the year, thanks to the Team, I could focus on getting healthy and fit. The Sharjah Grand Prix was the result of all the hard work the Team and I put in throughout the year. I really enjoyed racing and topping it up with my sixth World Title and the first ever for Victory Team in Aquabike feels very special.”
For the Dubai based Powerboat Team this is their 25th World Championship title. The first ever in the Aquabike division, which the Team entered just this year. After finishing short of the title in the last two years, the Austrian returned to dominating fashion by winning two out of three Grand Prix and reclaiming the Ski Division World title.

Victory Teams Reiterer erreichte perfekte Resultate im Grand Prix von Sharjah und sicherte sich WM Titel Nummer Sechs
Sharjah, UAE – Victory Teams Kevin Reiterer war eine Klasse für sich. Mit einer fehlerfreien Performance gewann er den Grand Prix von Sharjah und besiegelte einen weiteren UIM-ABP Aquabike Weltmeistertitel.
Reiterer führte vor dem letzten Rennen der Saison die Meisterschaft mit 14 Punkten vor Raphael Maurin (FRA) an. Der Franzose und Reiterer kämpften noch vor wenigen Tagen um den prestigeprächtigen King’s Cup. Beide Athleten waren in harte Zweikämpfe verwickelt und gewannen bei der Veranstaltung je ein Rennen. Doch schlussendlich siegte Raphael Maurin in Thailand. Dies schien der Auftakt für einen spannenden finalen Grand Prix in Sharjah zu sein. Jedoch hatten Reiterer und Victory Team andere Pläne. Mit seinem Victory-Rennfahrzeug vereint, dominierte der Österreicher mit 4,83 Sekunden Vorsprung vor dem amtierenden Weltmeister, Quinten Bossche.
„Es ist unglaublich, wenn ich hier in Sharjah wieder auf meinem Victory Team Rennski unterwegs bin. Ich habe mich sofort auf dem Ski wohl gefühlt“, erzählt der Sportler.
Beim Grand Prix von Sharjah war Reiterer eine Klasse für sich. Seine Konkurrenten hatten keine Antwort auf die dominierenden drei Moto-Siege, die von Anfang bis Ende von Kevin angeführt wurden und jeweils mit einem Vorsprung von über 30 Sekunden endeten.
„Als ich in diese Saison kam, kämpfte ich mit einer Verletzung. Im Laufe des Jahres konnte ich mich dank des Teams darauf konzentrieren, gesund und fit zu werden. Der Sharjah Grand Prix war das Ergebnis all der harten Arbeit, die das Team und ich im Laufe des Jahres geleistet haben. Ich habe es sehr genossen, mit dem Team meinen sechsten Weltmeistertitel einzufahren“, so der Weltmeister.
Für das in Dubai ansässige Powerboat-Team ist dies der 25. Weltmeistertitel. Der erste in der neuen Sportart Aquabike, in den das Team erst in diesem Jahr eingetreten ist. Nachdem der Österreicher in den letzten zwei Jahren den Titel knapp verpasst hat, kehrte er in die dominierende Form von 2015 zurück. Mit zwei von drei Grand Prix Siegen und den Weltmeistertitel der Ski Division Klasse.
